There has been a significant development in the Anthony Joshua camp ahead of the proposed rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua was knocked off his throne by WBO mandatory challenger Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September. He will have hoped to rematch the Ukrainian in the spring, but the war in his home country has complicated matters.
While there has been no formal agreement reached and no fight date or venue announced, all parties involved are confident that this fight WILL take place and it will potentially do so before the end of July.
As the promoters and lawyers work tirelessly over the fight agreement, all the fighters themselves can do is focus on being in their best possible fight heading into what’ll be the biggest fight of both their careers.
For Joshua, he has taken extreme measures by appointing a new trainer, even with there being a short window between now and the fight to make the difference, in hope it’ll have a positive outcome.
