A massive congrats to Campbell Johnstone and his partner Ben Thomson who tied the knot this week down in New Zealand. Campbell Johnstone is the first openly gay player to have played for the All Blacks. Great to see and we wish him and his partner every happiness.

They were secretly married in October, in a mountain top ceremony at Castle Hill Station in the South Island of New Zealand. Those moments were recorded, and wedding guests watched a video of the couple exchanging their vows on a big screen.
“Nobody knew what was going on. Even the groomspeople and our families didn’t know,” Johnstone said.
Johnstone came out as gay in 2023 in a TV interview, saying he wanted to “take away the pressure” from coming out and admitting he had found it “hard living a double life”.
It was recognised as a significant moment in the history of rugby in Aotearoa.
