Alisha Lehmann has confirmed that she and Douglas Luiz have ended their relationship, bringing their turbulent romance to a close. The confirmation came after speculation grew online following a viral hoax which claimed Jack Grealish had been flirting with the Swiss footballer on Instagram.

The hoax on Twitter
The fake screenshot, which quickly spread across social media, appeared to show Grealish wishing Lehmann a “Happy Mother’s Day”, to which she supposedly replied, “I’m not a mum but thanks”. Grealish was then said to have responded, “I can change that”. However, fans soon uncovered that no such comments existed. Lehmann responded to the hoax by posting a laughing emoji on her personal X account, confirming it was entirely fabricated.
As questions over her relationship with Luiz mounted, one fan asked directly, “What about Douglas Luiz?” Lehmann responded with a red cross emoji, confirming their break-up.

Lehmann and Luiz first got together in 2021 when they were both playing for Aston Villa’s women’s and men’s teams. The pair split for a time, during which Lehmann was linked to her Switzerland team-mate Ramona Bachmann, but reunited in 2023.
Their relationship took another twist when Luiz joined Juventus last year as part of a player-plus-cash deal involving Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea. Lehmann followed shortly after, signing for Juventus Women just days later to continue her career in Turin.
However, Luiz’s absence from Lehmann’s celebrations when Juventus won the Serie A Women’s title last month led to speculation that their relationship had ended, and this has now been confirmed.
Meanwhile, Jack Grealish, who was falsely linked to the hoax message, remains in a long-term, if sometimes rocky, relationship with Sasha Attwood, which has lasted over a decade. I’m sure they will both have a laugh about this hoax on social media though!
