Alexander Zverev updated his fans via social media after suffering a horror ankle injury against Rafael Nadal.
Zverev, who was in the midst of a superb contest with Rafael Nadal at the French Open, rolled his ankle on the floor and was subsequently forced to leave the court in a wheelchair.
It was a dear, dear shame that he had to pull out of the contest because Zverev had gone blow-for-blow with Nadal throughout and had a fighting chance of securing a famous victory.
The match in isolation is just one negative from Zverev’s perspective, with the tennis star now potentially facing a lengthy period of time away from the court and on the treatment table.
Zverev posted a video on social media in wake of the incident, revealing that his and the doctors’ belief was that he has sustained a “very serious injury.”
Here’s what he had to say in full. We hope that the injury is not as bad as first thought and he is able to get back out on the court sooner than is initially anticipated.
