Alan Shearer didnât hold back when discussing Chelsea during the half-time discussion of their humiliating defeat to Manchester City.
Chelsea has been beyond poor this season. They currently sit tenth in the league, a whopping 19 points behind Arsenal and look like they will miss out on Europe next season.
They showed just how far theyâve fallen when they were thrashed 4-0 by a rampant Manchester City team in the third round of the FA Cup.

They were especially poor in the first half and Shearer didnât pull any punches when breaking them down in the BBC studio.
âFrom a Chelsea point of view, itâs not acceptable that performance. I said beforehand they need a bit of energy, character, all of those things.â Shearer said.
âFrom Chelsea that is nowhere near good enough, there is no energy, no tackles, nothing. Youâve got to get closer â theyâre good players. Itâs got to come from the manager. Just have a look at their body language, itâs as if they donât really want to be here, feeling a bit sorry for ourselves, got players out injured, and donât really want to be on the pitch.
âAbsolutely itâs got to come from the manager. Nowhere near good enough from Chelsea. Theyâve had a really tough afternoon defensively, but going forward itâs so bad you wouldnât believe it. Theyâve had no link up play, no options, theyâve been slow.
âTheyâve had one effort on goal, no touches in the 18-yard box, they have been nothing short of pathetic really in forward positions.â
Graham Potter will be fearing for his job now especially when you consider that fans were chanting Thomas Tuchelâs name throughout the game.
Do you think they should keep him on?
