Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji has backed Erling Haaland to hit FIFTY Premier League goals this campaign, reports the Daily Mail.
Haaland has already scored 14 Premier League goals, with nine of those coming from three hat-tricks. He’s running away with the league’s golden boot.
He will of course be focusing on collective success with Manchester City and that kind of thinking will come later, but all of the records are well within sight.
The most significant of those would be the single-season goal record – with teammate Manuel Akanji backing Haaland to SMASH right through it.
When quizzed if Haaland could do the impossible and finish the 2022/23 Premier League campaign with 50 goals to his name, Akanji replied:
“If he stays healthy then I think there is nothing that can stop him, yeah.”
It seems unlikely, but only a fool would bet against Haaland in the form that he is in at current. The man is a robot, and fifty goals might not be out of reach…
