Ex-Chelsea and Fulham defender hits out at ‘haters’ in his own fanbase who booed him during Coppa Italia match

Former Chelsea and Fulham defender Ola Aina has taken to Twitter to hit back at his own fans after they booed him during an early round Coppa Italia match.

Aina threatened to break into the Chelsea squad while Antonio Conte was at the helm, with the Nigerian’s qualities making him perfectly suited to a wing-back role.

However, he instead decided to depart in search of first-team opportunities, with loans to Hull City and Torino resulting in a permanent move to the Serie A oufit.

Having spent last year with Fuham, who were relegated to the Championship, Aina is now back with Torino, but he’s having a hard time of it, so it seems.

After a 0-0 draw with Serie B side U.S. Cremonese in the Coppa Italia, which Torino won on penalties, Aina took to Twitter to fire back at his own fans for booing him.

With the Torino fanbase not feeling Aina, and Aina not feeling the love from his fans, perhaps they will look to find a move away from the club for him before the end of the transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Aina would have any offers from Premier League clubs after his underwhelming campaign with Fulham, but there’d likely be suitors in the Championship, were Torino’s demands to be affordable.
