Ade Oladipo reveals who he feels is at fault for England’s loss to France

After England crashed out of the World Cup to France at the weekend, fans are still reeling from the defeat, which brings with it the question of who is at fault for the loss, because there is always someone to blame after a loss

Speaking on Talksport, Ade Oladipo believes that despite England’s all-round solid performance against France, Gareth Southgate should be taking the flack for the defeat.

Southgate has been a lot of fans’ scapegoat when it comes to The Three Lions underperforming, but Oladipo gave his reasoning as to why the 52-year old needs to be held responsible for his team’s competition exit.

We were actually better than the world champions for a period of that game, and we didn’t go for it.

“I thought that the game was going to be won or lost by the bench. I looked at ours and thought “it is strong”. You could have had Rashford running at that tired backline, even Maddison who didn’t get a single minute in the tournament.

“Tactically, Gareth got it wrong AGAIN because he didn’t go to the bench quick enough”.

Southgate’s future as England boss remains up in the air, as he admits he “needs time to reflect on recent events”, as it is World Cup heartbreak for England fans once again.
