Darren Bent thinks that Harry Maguire will attract a lot of interest in the summer if he was to leave Manchester United.
The club’s captain has seen his game time limited this season, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane Erik ten Hag’s first-choice centrebacks, and with Luke Shaw playing ahead of Maguire in Ten Hag’s occasional back three formation, Bent believes that’s Maguire’s United career over.
“Martinez and Varane are doing very well and you can understand why Ten Hag likes them, but when you see Luke Shaw who isn’t even a centreback, in your position, your time is over.
“Maguire will come to an agreement with United and leave, he won’t want to sit and watch from the bench.
“Unfortunately he’s not wanted, but a lot of teams will take him.”
🔴 “I think Ten Hag likes Martinez & Varane. Maguire will want to play.”
👏 “He’s clearly not wanted, but I think a lot of teams will want him.”

Maguire has two years left on his United contract, so the club will demand a sizeable fee for the 29-year old if they do decide to sell him, but you would imagine it’ll be hard for them to get anything close to the £80million they signed him for from Leicester in 2019.
