Footage from 2019 of Mike Tyson and Snoop Dogg sharing their admiration for the late great Pele has re-emerged after the Brazil legend’s recent passing.

The world has said goodbye to an icon, Pele at the age of 82 passed away on Thursday in a hospital. The Brazil legend is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, winning three World Cups and scoring an incredible 1281 goals in 1363 appearances.

Pele was one of the few athletes who truly transcended sport and as was expected, tributes to the former player flooded the internet.

Among the many videos being shared was a clip of Tyson and Snoop Dogg expressing their admiration for the forward on the ‘Hotboxin’ podcast.

While discussing some of the world’s greatest footballers, Tyson brought up Pele and described him ‘Cool, confident, just a badass.’

Pele has always been considered as not just the greatest but as one of the first to ever achieve that level. Tyson goes on to praise him for being a ‘team player’.

“He was doing tricks with the ball and his IQ was hella good. He knew how to pass the ball, he was a team player.” Iron Mike said.

“He wasn’t selfish, that’s what made him great, he could have just done it all by himself but he was involved with everybody else.

“I like players like that, that’s team orientated. You’re good enough to be bad by yourself but you know, the team makes me better and we all look good. I like that.”
