Lionel Messi has capped off his incredible career with his eighth Ballon d’Or.
The Argentine forward was always favourite to win after he led his country to World Cup glory last year.
Although not competing with Cristiano Ronaldo this year, Messi was up against another goalscoring machine in Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian bagged 52 goals in 51 games last season and came very close to claiming his first Ballon d’Or.
