Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville got into a fiery debate about the state of Manchester United after their 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Red Devils were schooled by their city rivals at Old Trafford, losing 3-0 in a humiliating defeat that resigns them to eighth place in the Premier League table.
Many pundits have weighed in on the performance including Carragher and Neville who got into a heated debate on Sky Sports after the game.
āNone of us here can still explain what Manchester United try to do, in terms of how they play.ā Carragher said.
āHeās [Ten Hag] been here now nearly 18 months, weāve seen Unai Emery come in at Aston Villa, [Ange] Postecoglou at Tottenham. That doesnāt mean you win every week but, when you go to the games, you know what youāre going to see. We still donāt know what weāre going to see at Manchester United. You tell me how they play with the ball.ā
Neville then replied:
āNo. And Carra, to be honest with you, I canāt disagree with you. Those managers you are talking about come into stable environments. They [United] have currently got a guy over their heads a guy all over the news, [Sir Jim Ratcliffe] who is going to own 25% [of the club].ā
