Former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra has been convicted and fined for posting homophobic abuse online.
The French man, who did not appear in the Paris court, was fined on Thursday and fined £890 and ordered to pay £1,780 to two anti-hate campaign groups.
The incident occurred in 2019 when the 41-year-old went on a homophobic rant on Snapchat about PSG after they had played Manchester United in the Champions League.
He directed homophobic slurs at the Paris team labelling them as “f*****s” and “p****s”.

Two anti-hate campaign groups, Mousse and Stop Homophobia, immediately fined a complaint against Evra.
The complainant’s lawyer released a statement immediately after the verdict on Thursday.
‘The homophobic remarks of a personality like Patrice Evra fuel hatred and violence against LGBT people, in particular in countries where homosexuality is criminally repressed, like in Senegal, the country where Patrice Evra comes from’.
