FIFA is considering introducing a new rule to prevent goalkeepers from distracting penalty takers after Emiliano Martinez’s notorious antic during the World Cup final.
Argentina won their third World Cup in December after a thrilling final went to a penalty shootout which they won thanks to goalkeeper, Martinez. The Aston Villa man has always taken an abrasive style to play and has done throughout his entire career.
So seeing him get into the face of the French players and try to intimidate them was no great surprise.

It is hard to argue with his methods when it works but many were upset at his antics deeming them unsportsmanlike.
In order to stop this kind of future behaviour, FIFA is considering introducing a new rule at their IFAB meeting this week, according to Marca.
