The Limerick man was very lucky not to receive a straight red card after striking Brian Concannon in the face with his hurley.
Limerick managed to beat Galway 0-24 to 0-19 in Division One of the National Hurling League on Sunday but fans were in disbelief that Hayes didn’t receive a red card.

The Kildimo-Pallaskenry player deliberately struck Concannon in his face guard and didn’t receive a card,. He can count himself lucky as he was already on a yellow and it was easily a second booking, at least.
