After 17 years in charge of Manchester United, the Glazer family have today released a statement expressing their intent to sell the club. The relationship between the fanbase and ownership has been toxic for a while now, so this will come as a relief to many.
In a statement on the club’s official website, the board stated that they are “commencing a process to explore strategic alternatives for the club”.

Both Avram and Joel Glazer addressed the fans directly in the statement:
“The strength of Manchester United rests on the passion and loyalty of our global community of 1.1 billion fans and followers. As we seek to continue building on the Club’s history of success, the Board has authorized a thorough evaluation of strategic alternatives.”
“We will evaluate all options to ensure that we best serve our fans and that Manchester United maximizes the significant growth opportunities available to the Club today and in the future.”
The news comes right after the club announced that would be terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, who openly criticized the ownership last week.
This will come as good news to the majority of the Man Utd fanbase, who have consistently opposed the Glazers ownership over the past decade.
