🚨BREAKING: Gary Lineker has been offered a HUGE new job after BBC row

Gary Lineker has been offered a new job with BT Sport after being asked to step down from the BBC.

The former England striker has been suspended from his role at the BBC after he received a ton of backlash for his social media comments.

After the BBC released a statement confirming this they were hit with criticism from the public, which also led to Ian Wright and Alan Shearer refusing to appear on Match of the Day.

“The BBC has been in extensive discussions with Gary and his team in recent days.” The BBC statement reads.

“We have said that we consider his recent social media activity to be a breach of our guidelines.

“The BBC has decided that he will step back from presenting Match of the Day until we’ve got an agreed and clear position on his use of social media.

“When it comes to leading our football and sports coverage, Gary is second to none. We have never said that Gary should be an opinion-free zone, or that he can’t have a view on issues that matter to him, but we have said that he should keep well away from taking sides on party political issues or political controversies.”

But it looks like Lineker could land on his feet straight away with The Daily Mail reporting that BT Sport is interested in bringing him on board.

The company was recently bought by Warner Brothers Discover and is planning on expanding its football coverage and wants the 62-year-old to be the face of its new venture.

The company is planning on rebranding to TNT Sports with Lineker seeming like a perfect fit, he has worked for BT Sports before.
