Nate Diaz has admitted that the weight gain has made him feel sluggish ahead of his fight with Jake Paul.
The UFC legend campaigned at 155lb and 170lb for his UFC career but has been bulking up to 185lb for the Paul clash.
Diaz speaking to Bradley Martynβs Raw Talk podcast said,
βIβve been eating a lot of food and getting heavier.
βI did feel [slower] at first when I was eating and trying to get big because I was on a weight gain diet, eating all kinds of stuff to get as big as I could. To a certain point I was like βDude, Iβm lazy and tired and Iβm working out like a meathead right nowβ.

βI was lifting weights, bodybuilding and all that stuff. It made me tired and lazy from carrying the extra weight, just made me drowsy. At a certain point I just eased up on it and created a new plan, then I had a lot more energy and started doing more things. I was eating a lot at first and blowing up as much as I could, now I do a fast for half the day and get down when I get down.
βBefore it was every two hours and I was exhausted everywhere I go, like before I was about to train. I was doing the stuff that I love to do and Iβm sitting there like βMan, I donβt even want to goβ. Once I eased up a bit more weight, I had more energy and Iβve kind of got into a good rhythm now.β
Diaz will be making his professional boxing debut against the YouTuber-come-boxer on August 5th. Will the weight be a factor? Let us know in the comments.
He’s an idiot. Just because the his opponent is 185, does not mean he has to be. Yes, the weight MAY make his punches a little more substantial but if it sacrifices speed and accuracy it will be a futile gesture. When Mayweather fought his brother, he was nowhere near the same weight. Think about it!!
Pay attention slick ^^ that guy said it right. Do the research before you start talking bub
looks like you are the idiot sir, the Mayweather fights was an exhibition fight,, so weight class didn’t matter this is going down as a pro fight where weight classes are key ,
