Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has named the player he believes is currently the best in the world.
Simeone has managed Atletico since 2011 so he has witnessed the great Lionel Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo era.

Fans, pundits and players used to debate who was the better footballer and even today some people will still argue about this.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Atletico Madridโs fixture at Valencia on Saturday, Simeone shared his thoughts:
โThe best player in the world right now? Messi.
โMessi, he became a world champion. What more does he have to win to continue being the best in the world?โ
