Ricky Hatton shared his thoughts about Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition antics.
Mayweather ended his glittering career undefeated in fifty bouts but since then has been on a world tour of exhibitions.
Most recently his ‘fight’ against John Gotti ended in absolute mayhem and Hatton has called for Mayweather to put an end to the bizarre scraps.
Speaking to talkSport the British boxing legend said,
“Floyd’s arguably the greatest fighter that ever lived so he does not need a named opponent.
“He could fight Daffy Duck on the moon and people would turn up to watch Floyd Mayweather.
“With the cost of living these days, especially in this country, if I had my last £50 in my pocket, no disrespect, but I wouldn’t pay to watch him fight someone from Geordie Shore or a YouTuber, give me a break.
“He’s the greatest fighter in the world fighting TV stars. No, come on, stop it Floyd.”
15 years ago today, Floyd Mayweather stopped Ricky Hatton in round 10 to retain the WBC welterweight title.
The build up to this fight was 🔥 and the atmosphere at the weigh in alone was incredible.
