The Ireland team paid tribute to Axel Foley by lining up in a number eight as they faced down the Haka before kick-off.
Ireland face off against New Zealand in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in a titanic clash.
Prior to kick-off New Zealand lined up for their traditional Haka with their opponent’s lining up in a figure eight formation.
This echoes exactly what they did at Soldier Field in 2016 in memory of Axel Foley.

The Irish squad stand in an 8 formation to face the Haka, just like they did at Soldier Field in 2016 in memory of the late Anthony Foley. ☘️#IREvNZL | #RWC2023 pic.twitter.com/NIgzly6fiv
