The former Manchester United midfielder was not a fan of Virgil van Dijk’s comments after the 0-0 draw at Anfield.
Many expected Jurgen Klopp’s side to steamroll the Manchester club with predictions similar to last year’s 7-0 thrashing being thrown around.
But unusually, the game was a rather tame affair with neither side really putting their stamp on proceedings.
In an interview with Sky Sports after full-time, Van Dijk claimed that ‘there was only one team trying to win.’
“Unfortunately it didn’t happen. That is why it is frustrating because we want to win every game. Especially when you play against a team like them.” He said.
Keane who was in the Sky Sports studio was not happy with his ‘arrogant’ comments and hit out at the Dutch defender.
🗣️ “That’s arrogance.”
