Wolves lost to Newcastle last weekend but an independent panel has just revealed that the referee made a major blunder in the game.Â
Julen Lopetegui’s side lost 2-1 but felt as if they should’ve been awarded a penalty in the first half when Nick Pope took Raul Jimenez down inside the area. It seemed that everybody was convinced that the referee should point to the spot but after a VAR review, the decision was not overturned.
If the correct decision was made, Pope would’ve likely been sent off and the entire trajectory of the game changed.
