Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has told Roy Keane to ‘get a life’ after he hit out at Virgil van Dijk.
The Merseyside club were held to a bland 0-0 draw at Anfield on Sunday evening as they failed to put a weakened Manchester United to the sword.
Erik ten Hag set his team out to defend in a low block and limit Liverpool to only speculative attempts while trying to counter on the break.
Van Dijk was not a fan of this tactic as he stated that only one team was looking to win after the game.
Keane, who was in the Sky Sports studio, hit back at the defender’s comments labelling them as arrogant while reminding him that Liverpool has only won one title in 30 years.
Club legend, Thompson, hit out at the former Irish midfielder on talkSPORT for his comments.
“And for Roy Keane to be talking about arrogance in people… come on, do me a favour.
“And I love Roy…but I played that back and he just kept repeating the word. Roy, just get a life!”
“Roy, just get a life!” 😡🙄
