Jamie Carragher called out Granit Xhaka after the Swiss midfielder clashed with Trent Alexander Arnold and riled up the Anfield crowd.
Arsenal had their title hopes dented after they drew 2-2 with Liverpool in an enthralling game at Anfield.
The match looked like it was going to be a stroll for the Gunners after taking the lead within 30 minutes but Liverpool got into it after a moment between Xhaka and Alexander Arnold got brought Anfield to its feet.
Carragher has slammed the Arsenal player for his reaction while speaking after the game.
“I am not an Arsenal fan but i am angry with [Granit] Xhaka,” said Carragher.
“What was he doing? The game is in your hands and you’ve got involved. Why do it? It was idiotic for an experienced player to do that at this ground.
“There was only one way Liverpool were getting back into that game and it was with the terraces. Liverpool as a team cannot compete with Arsenal, but with the energy in the stadium they can.”
