Fans are furious after Sky revealed that Saturday Social will be replacing Soccer AM.
After almost 30 years on the air, Soccer AM has been axed and will no longer be televised come the end of the season.
“Soccer AM has played an important role in our coverage of football for the past three decades, and we continually adapt to the evolving needs of our customers,” a Sky spokesperson explained.
“We now go into a period of consultation to discuss the proposed changes with our people.
“We are unable to provide more detail while these consultations are underway.”
According to the Daily Mirror, Sky Sports will replace the show by moving Saturday Social up from 9.30 am to 10.30 am.
As you can imagine, this has upset more than a few fans on social media.
While Soccer AM is obviously past it’s sell-by date, replacing it with Saturday Social says everything about modern Broadcasting. Goals on Sunday, Revista de La Liga, Sunday supplement all axed in favour of listening to the likes of Thogden and Chunkz. https://t.co/KDF6jqTGaF

Sky Sports getting rid of Soccer AM and replacing it with Saturday social is dumb, they’re putting on more youtubers on tv who don’t have a clue about football, no wonder people cancelling Sky

Soccer AM hasn’t been the same for years now but replacing it with Saturday Social makes my eyes bleed. Broadcasting on its ass. Much rather wait for Pro AM and Volleys then hear what Thogden thinks of football.
No 14 year old has a Sky Sports subscription 😂😂#SoccerAM
