Erik ten Hag has revealed that the Manchester United forward will miss ‘a few games’ after his recent injury.
The incident occurred during the Red Devil’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday afternoon, with Marcus Rashford being forced off in the second half with a groin injury.
Man United have been competing on all fronts this season with the 25-year-old starting the majority of the games and has now, unfortunately, felt the repercussions.
United released a statement after the game.
“The forward was withdrawn in the 80th minute of Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Old Trafford and immediately headed to the dressing room for treatment.
“Subsequent assessment of the injury suggested that Marcus will be unavailable for a few games, but is expected to be back for the season run-in.”
Since then Ten Hag has elaborated further on the injury in his Wednesday press conference.
“A few games, so that’s the statement. I can’t give more details on it because we don’t know.
“We’ll have to see it how it develops.”
His side plays Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League but will have to do without the England international spearheading their attack.
