Erik ten Hag’s side was brutally knocked out of the Carabao Cup during the week in a game which saw Newcastle cut through the Red Devils time and time again.

The loss stings that bit extra coming off the back of a defeat to their city rivals just a few days prior, replicating that same scoreline.
Howe aimed a sly, possibly unintentional dig at Ten Hag’s side on Friday when asked about the fitness of two of his players.
