Chelsea has just announced the signing of Malo Gusto from Lyon in a deal worth €30 million plus add-ons.
The Blues have been far below their usual standards this year, with the side currently sitting in mid-table.
This is even more unusual given that they have spent so freely in the transfer market since Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich in the summer. Chelsea’s total spend is close to a whopping £500m after they spent £80m on Mykhailo Mudryk earlier in the month.

But they’re not finished there, they have dipped their toes back into the market and signed Gusto from Lyon.
However, like Christopher Nkunku, he will not join his new club until June.
