Cody Gakpo’s ‘equaliser’ was ruled out for offside after Virgil van Dijk was deemed to be off in the build up but fans are debating the goal.
Fans also think Tyrone Mings was fortunate to escape with just a yellow card for this challenge.
Just a yellow, apparently. Didn't go to the monitor to check.

This challenge by Mings on Gakpo left a mark 😳

Fans took to social media to debate the goal.
One said, ‘You can’t be offside if the opponent deliberately plays the ball to you.’
Another added, ‘Diaz is 100% onside. Heads it BACKWARDS. Villa defender passes it to Van Dijk.. leads to goal. WHERE THE F**K IS THE OFFSIDE?’
A third commented, ‘I’m so confused as to how that Gakpo goal was offside.”
Although others disagreed.
One commented, ‘Clearly offside wtf.’
Another said, ‘Correct decision.’
Liverpool did eventually equalise with a farewell Anfield goal from Roberto Firmino.
