There has been a lot of controversy in the women’s boxing after two of the fighters failed gender eligibility tests at last year’s World Championships.
Yu-Ting and Algerian, Imane Khelif have faced a huge amount of backlash online particularly after Khelif’s opponent Angela Carini abandoned their fight after just 46 seconds.
The IBA and IOC have taken aim at eachother over the banning of the athletes with the International Olympic Committee defending the athletes.
But, IBA president Kremlev told Russian news agency TASS at the time that tests had found that both Khelif and Lin had “XY chromosomes”.
