Carl Froch shares his thoughts ahead of the Anthony Joshua vs. Dillian Whyte rematch.
This week it was announced that Joshua and Whyte would collide once more, as it was revealed that they will rematch on August 12th at The O2.
‘The Cobra’ has been particularly critical of Joshua in recent times and once more gave his brutally honest opinion.
Speaking on the Lightweight Boxing Show, he claims the former heavyweight champion is ‘scared of his own shadow’.
He said,
“Anthony Joshua, he’s frightened of his own shadow. Since he lost to Andy Ruiz I don’t think he’s been the same. He’s had back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and then he came back with that win against Jermaine Franklin which was just a formality for him, he just jabbed and moved and got the win.”
“I want to see Anthony Joshua more aggressive, like he used to be when he was a bit more tenacious. He would go for the win and go for the finish.”
Froch also isn’t overly interested in the fight but did admit it is a smart move.
He continued,
“The Whyte fight, if he can beat Dillian it will set up the big tournament (fight vs. Wilder) that’s happening in Saudi.
August 12, Anthony Joshua-Dillian Whyte, it’s not the best fight out there. They’ve already boxed before. They boxed as amateurs and pros, AJ won as a pro.

It’s good fight for Anthony Joshua to take before he takes on someone like Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabi for mega bucks.”
