Joseph Amoako, who plays for Helsingborgs IF in Sweden has been released from prison after it was judged that was actually innocent after being charged with rape.
According to GhanaWeb, Amoako was handed a two-year sentence for allegedly raping a 16-year-old Swedish girl in December 2022.
But has been released after appealing to the court, the verdict was overturned due to false accusations as per GhanaSoccerNet.

“They just released him yesterday from the prison after the appeal was made. The case was fake, the girl was lying. Upon appeal, Amoako has been released. It was all a fake story from the girl so he is now a free man,” Derrick D Thompson told Ghanasoccernet.com.
He is now expected to return back to Ghana where he will continue his footballing career.
