What is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang worth?

Posted by

Dortmund’s golden goose at the moment, with a record of 21 goals in 23 games across all competitions with both Dortmund and Gabon; you can see why he is wanted all around Europe.

What is next for the Gabon man? With many clubs around Europe losing front men to the Chinese Super League and larger clubs throughout Europe, there are quite a few holes showing up in the starting eleven of some major clubs. Is there any chance Aubameyang could replace some of these men?

Diego Costa/Oscar(Chelsea)

With Chelsea definitely losing one of their stars and maybe losing the other, could there be space for Pierre in Stamford Bridge? With claims from Aubameyang himself before stating he feels he’s worth around £90m, can Chelsea afford him? The answer; probably. With the money they would make from the sale of both those players, it is felt that they would have enough.

There are some reported sightings of Diego Costa in China, possibly talking to potential buyers.

James Rodriguez(Real Madrid)

Aubameyang himself stated before that he would love to one day play for Los Blancos, yet with their trade ban still in affect until Summer it gives other teams a chance. James Rodriguez has spoken out about wanting a move so he can get some first team action, while Zidane has denied any claim that James will move because he is wanted at the Bernabeu for the foreseeable future. Is this a tactic to raise his price so they could possibly get some of the €80m they spent on him in 2014 back.

Alexis Sanchez/Mesut Ozil(Arsenal)

With Arsenal’s dynamic duo in uncharted territory about their contract problems, Wenger would be hoping that they would both be looking happy on and off the pitch. This is not the case with the tantrum that Sanchez threw after he was subbed off on the 79 minute mark for Danny Welbeck to come on, while his team were up 4-0 up at the weekend.

After coming off, Sanchez declined the option to go sit by his team mates and relish in the victory of the day, instead he sulked to the side with a jacket covering his head. Many have put this down to shear determination to Arsenal and that he wanted to play every minute of that game to score as many goals as possible, yet others feel like there is something else wrong within the team to cause this reaction as no other professional player reacts like this.. With problems like these popping up for Alexis, and Ozil seeming unhappy with his wages, there is a chance for a huge whole to be filled in, with Arsenal. Also with both men gone, Arsenal will have a lot of manoeuvrability money wise.

Aubameyang has told newspapers that for now he is happy where he is, trying to win silverware with Dortmund. I feel like that is a statement many people have heard before, but every player has their price. At least four of Europe’s largest club will be knocking on his door both this January and summer window, this is bound to drive his price up.

Are we looking at another record breaking transfer so soon?
