Kellie Harrington has qualified for the final of the women’s light weight and will either win a sliver or gold medal now for Ireland, what a boxer she is, could we be looking at another Katy Taylor? She definitely got the full support of the country behind her and whatever she does from here on she has done herself and everyone at home proud. Wouldn’t it be great to see her pick up gold though and add to the list of great Irish boxers.
It was an immensely close fight between the two fighters but Harrington came out on top by split decision. The judges scoring the fight 3-2 in favour of the Irish star. Roll on Sunday morning for the final.
