During an interview with fellow scouser and former Premier League player Jamie Carragher, Wayne Rooney revealed his interest in becoming a football coach or even manager of his current club Everton.

“The main thing I want to have a go at is management,” he said to Carragher in an exclusive interview for the Telegraph.

“I would love to stay at Everton in a coaching role or hopefully manager one day.”

Rooney is currently enjoying his second spell at Everton as his glistening career comes to an end and he said he hopes “to have all my badges by the time I have finished.”

The former England international won a total of 16 major trophies during his time at Manchester United leaving some to believe he may pursue a job in management at Old Trafford one day but Rooney is sticking to his roots and wishes to take charge of his boyhood club where hopefully he can take his success from Manchester United with him.
