Roy Keane was at his brilliant best again last night but as usual it was hard to disagree with the straight talking former Premier League winner.
Keane was covering the Champions League for ITV along with Lee Dixon last night and he had some pretty scathing remarks about Liverpool and Tottenham despite both teams putting in great performances in the last 16 stage.
Tottenham came from two down in Turin to clinch two valuable away goals against Juventus on Tuesday while Liverpool handed Porto their heaviest defeat in European history after they trashed the Portuguese side 5-0.
Despite their impressive performances Keane had a few harsh words for both Premier League sides.
“I know the Champions League has taken over now and the money behind it, but success for club like that is getting your hands on trophies.
“Clubs like Liverpool and Spurs should be able to qualify for the Champions League and win a League Cup or an FA Cup.
“These clubs with these squads should get to the knock-out stages of the Champions League and win an FA Cup or a League Cup as well. That should go hand in hand.
“”For a club the size of Liverpool and Tottenham one trophy in ten years is embarrassing.”
