Premier League legend Paul Scholes has labelled Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku as ‘reckless and stupid’ after the striker kicked out at Brighton’s Gaetan Borg.
There were fears that Lukaku may receive a suspension, which would have ruled him out of Tuesday night’s trip to Watford, but the Belgian international avoided retrospective punishment following the incident.
Despite Lukaku escaping a ban, Scholes ripped into the forward during the pre-match build up on BT Sport.
When asked about the incident, Scholes said: ‘Lukaku knows he has done well there and knows he’s lucky not to get any action against him.
‘It’s reckless and stupid and probably deserves to be sent off.’
