6 Premier League Youngsters Make Golden Boy Shortlist

A total of six Premier League players have made the 25 man shortlist for this years Golden Boy award.

The award is given by sports journalists to a young football player playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year (two halves to two separate seasons) and all nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation’s top tier.

Manchester United and Manchester City strikers Marcus Rashford and Jesus are just two of the six representatives from England’s top-tier with Tottenham’s right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Liverpool duo Dominic Solanke and Joe Gomez making up the rest of the list.

West Ham United’s Reece Oxford, who is currently on loan in Germany at Borussia Monchengladbach, has also made the list.

Former winners include the likes of Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney and most recently Renato Sanches who now plays for Swansea.
