Opening ceremonies are always a huge event but things don’t always go to plan and Diana Ross is an example of that.
The legendary singer was taking part in the opening ceremony for World Cup USA in 1994 and part of the performance included her taking a penalty.
Ross, being an American pop star, probably didn’t kick many footballs in her life and that showed as soon as shed blasted the ball wide, only for the goal to break in half which would have made sense if she hit the target.
Despite the fail Ross carried on as a true professional does and put on a great show but FIFA must have had some doubts about picking the USA to host after such a poor start.
