WATCH: U2 Toast Lionel Messi At Their Sold Out Concert In Buenos Aires

U2 pulled off a master stroke this week when they decided to postpone their Buenos Aires concert by two and a half hours so fans could watch Argentina play football.

The Irish band made the decision when they realised their concert directly clashed with the World Cup qualifier which might affect crowd attendance.

Instead, the Dublin based band broadcast the game on big screens inside and outside the arena and and to their delight Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick sending the Argentines through to the World Cup and the atmosphere afterwards was electric.

During the gig Bono gave a toast in honour of Argentina’s saviour and praised Messi in front of the sell out crowd. Watch below:

Here’s a clip of the game being shown inside the stadium as well as clips from the concert itself.
