Flashy Or Classic Football Boots – What’s Better?

Posted by

Throughout the year’s we’ve seen our fair share of beautiful football boots and some just damn right outrageous which you wouldn’t want to be seen dead in. We thought we would try to investigate, which football boots are better, flashy or classy?

Thanks to our friends at Lovell Soccer ( Link at bottom of article) we tested out 4 pair’s of football boots, 2 flashy and 2 classic and tried to come up with a final evaluation on which type of boots scored the best. Whether you agree that a football boot can help you perform on the pitch or not, comfort and the weight of the boots can help you in different ways even if you are on a flogged Sunday league pitch and that’s nearly every pitch in Britain.

The football boots that were sent to us where Nike Mercurial Superfly’s, Adidas Mundial’s, Puma Kings and the upcoming brad in Blue New Balance Visaro and we headed to the pitch to test them out..

Nike Mercurial Superfly

The iconic Superfly’s are wanted by a lot of youngsters nowadays mainly for the sock design implemented by Nike and commonly wore by Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, on the terms of how they felt, the Nike Superfly’s were very comfortable but tight to the players feet. They have very little padding helping them to be as light weight as possible so if you are interested in these type of boots but have feet problems then these aren’t for you due to if any player stamps on your feet you are going to be in agony. Although If you are a quick winger or even striker, these are defiantly for you to show off on the pitch.

New Balance Visaro

New Balance are a brand to watch in the football world as with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Samir Nasir and Adnan Januzaj all wearing the boots this season and not to forget New Balance now sponsoring football clubs such as Liverpool. The boots felt very tight on the feet towards the toes, so you may want to try them on before purchasing, but with the design on the side of the boots the first touch when receiving the ball was the best from all of the boots. If you are a playmaker and possibly a Centre Half these boots would be perfect for you.

Rating – 7/10

Adidas Mundials

Much like the New Balance Visaro’s the Adidas Mundials these boots are perfect for the ultimate playmaker and have to be the most comfortable boots out of the four, the classic look is very attractive and the tongue also boosts the appearance of the boots. The boots feel light on your feet and certainly not lacking class. For the classy look and the ideal comfort we’re giving these boots full marks.

Rating – 10/10

Puma Kings

Pherhaps not the most attractive boots around but Puma Kings’s are ideal for the classic no nonsense defender who doesn’t have any interest in looking flashy on the field. The boot itself felt quite heavy on the feet, although you could hit the ball the furthest with the Puma’s. Perfect for a defender when hoofing out a clearance and maybe even a goalkeeper with goalkicks, but if you are a pacey winger or striker, these aren’t for you lads.
